SRH Target of Hacker Attack

SRH Education & Health Conglomerate Victim of Cyber Attack

Once again, the inferior and substandard security posture of German SMEs is punished!

The educational and health conglomerate SRH has become a victim of a cyber-attack. National facilities are affected, including ones in Heidelberg and Neckargemünd.

The operation was conducted between Saturday evening and Sunday morning (18.09.21-19.09.21), according to spokesman of the SRH. It seems that the main target were the educational facilities of the SRH, including SRH College in Heidelberg and the Steven-Hawking-School in Neckargemünd.

“Due to security reasons, work is conducted using pen and paper”

so the SRH spokesman, referring to the fact that the SRH-Hospitals have been taken off the network as a preventive measure.

The State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the attack according to the SWR and recovery operations have been conducted as early as the weekend of the occurring.

Currently, no ransom or other form of extortion is made public. Crisis management is speculating about the RTO, which seems to stretch for a few more days (state 22.09.21).
